The position works closely with Product Owners, Service Owners, DevOps teams, architects, and business stakeholders to align business needs with technology strategy and drive operational excellence.Responsibilities
- Portfolio Strategy & Governance: Maintain and steer the IT Operations portfolio strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities, architecture, and technology roadmaps.
- Service & Platform Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of operational services and platforms to ensure reliability, security, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Backlog & Demand Management: Consolidate and prioritize operational demands, balancing new initiatives with maintenance, stability, and risk-mitigation activities.
- Operational Excellence: Improve service performance and reliability by partnering with IT Operations teams to reduce incidents and drive automation and continuous improvement.
- Financial & Resource Planning: Manage budgets, forecast resource needs, and optimize investments across the IT Operations portfolio.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary link between IT Operations and business stakeholders to ensure clear communication, expectation management, and value delivery.
- Metrics, Reporting & Compliance: Define KPIs, provide transparent reporting on portfolio and service performance, and ensure security, governance, and compliance requirements are met.
- Change Leadership: Promote a product-centric and DevOps-aligned culture by encouraging adoption of modern tools, processes, and ways of working.
- Strong understanding of IT Operations, DevOps, SRE, and ITIL/ITSM.
- Experience with service lifecycle management and platform operations.
- Ability to work with operational metrics (SLAs, SLOs, incident trends).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, automation, CI/CD, and monitoring tools.
- Experience in product ownership, backlog management, and roadmap creation.
- Knowledge of SAFe, Lean Portfolio Management, or similar frameworks.
- Ability to balance strategic and tactical responsibilities.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business groups.
- Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment among teams.
- Skilled in facilitating prioritization and decision-making.
- Systems thinking, proactive problem-solving, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
- High accountability, ownership, and adaptability in complex environments.
- Understanding of budgeting, cost models, and value realization.
- Ability to articulate the business impact of operational decisions.
